Bob Marley produced that album, but don’t share vocals or plays guitar at that album.

Not proper stored both tapes remained untouched until May 11th, 1989, the eighth anniversary of Bob Marley’s death. Then they were restored as best as possible to reveal two hours of music. The songs of Reel 1 were recorded in his bedroom at his mother’s house in Vista Lane, Miami ca. October 1977 with Bob Marley singing and playing acoustic guitar. The tapes were restored by Roger Steffens. Reel 1 seems to be from 1977. Reel 2 is recorded at Tuff Gong Studios during the sessions for Uprising in 1980. Until 2001 or later this tape was unavailable. Songs are Copyright 1990 Cedella Booker Marley.

WOUNDED LION SESSION, SURVIVAL REHEARSAL
Recorded at Tuff Gong Studio.
This tape was recorded during the Survival sessions. There is a tape that have only the first six demos. There is a tape titled “Wounded Lion Session Part 2?, that includes only the last five demos. The same tape is also titled “Survival Rehearsal”.
The first six demos were recorded at the Black Survival Sessions 1979 at Tuff Gong Studios, Kingston. These were recorded earlier as the Survival Demos, 1-CD.
The last five demos feature Bob Marley, Aston Familyman Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Al Anderson, and the Horn-section. Steven Davis tells, that at the Rehearsal for Sugar Ray Robinson Foundation Benefit Concert, Roxy, New York, USA, November 1979 the same line up played and also extended jams were played. Probably recorded at this session. The jam of ‘Could You Be Loved’ is recorded earlier as the studio take and sounds similar to the drumbox mix with added horns. Because of the participation of these horns that are totally unique it seems likely that also song 7 and 8 are from that sesssion.
01. Wounded Lion In The Jungle (20,38)
02. You Talk Too Much (3,41) A second source runs 5,29. This longer cut includes parts of the other demos and is nothing different.
03. Babylon System (Take 1) (5,09) Bob Marley on lead vocal singing te chorus, probably also on rhythm guitar. Bob Marley is teaching the rhythm section and the organ player how to play. Long instrumental parts of guitar, organ, bass and drums. Earliest take.
04. Babylon System (False Start) (0,27) false start with the first vocal line.
05. Babylon System (Take 2) (10,08) Similar to Take 1. Alternate vocals like: “babylon system is the vampire – babylon system fallen empire” and “vatican city – fallen entire”
06. Babylon System (Take 3) (5,18) Similar to Take 1 and Take 2.
07. Could You Be Loved (Rehearsal) (1,45) vocals, harmonies, guitar solos, horns
08. Could You Be Loved (Rehearsal) (6,24) vocals, harmonies, guitar solos, horns
09. Survival (Rehearsal) (1,18)
10. Zimbabwe (Rehearsal) (14,09) Another source running 24 sec longer includes these from the song before.
11. Ride Natty Ride (Rehearsal) (21,39) Another source runs 31 seconds longer but includes these from the song before. So nothing different from here.
There is also Ride Natty Ride (7,45) that is a part of this track running 21 minutes in total. On Gael Doyen Collection CD 2.

THE TRADERS ANTHOLOGY – CAN’T BOW INNA BABYLON
acoustic sessions date: 1980 (?) time: 64:23
T1 to T9 originally from Ultra Rarities 6CD collection.
T11 to T13 originally from a torrent on reggaetraders.com
sound quality: 4 to 4+ trader: compiled by KAZO
1. Feeling Irie (7,42)
2. Lonely Day (4,53)

4. Cry On (3,49)
5. Down By The River (mix 1) (2,00)

10. Can’t Bow (Part 4) (12,09)
11. Stop Killing One Another (15,34)
12. Interlude (0,21)
13. Come On (1,26)
Blanks and cracks between tracks have been removed.
Tracks 1,2 is a rehearsal with Bob joking with 2 girls, 1980 or maybe England, 1977
Tracks 3-10 are from the same session, supposedly 1980.
Tracks 4,5 have been issued by Universal on Man-to-man boxset with a date given as 1968. But this is probably wrong, pure opportunism from the record company, respectless for Bob’s music history.
Track 5 is just an excerpt from a long rehearsal cut here for demonstration into tracks 7 to 10.
Then Track 9 is shown to be identical to track 5.
Track 6 is a longer speech that the excerpt which is used for track 3 intro.
Tracks 11-13 have recently appeared. Track 12 is just an interlude, maybe a TV sound. Bob’s voice sounds very tired, maybe this was recorded during Bob’s illness, maybe on his last days?

01. If You Wanna Be Loved
Martha Velez is singing solo and plays acoustic guitar, while Bob Marley is rarely participating at this first take.

Martha Velez is singing solo and plays acoustic guitar. Probably Bob Marley is also playing acoustic guitar. Bob Marley produced that album, but don’t share vocals or plays guitar at that album.

1977, ACOUSTIC SESSION WITH THE SONS OF JAH
The title is misleading as this is not an acoustic session, but some songs are played acoustic and others not, electric bass, electric guitar and some keyboards are also audible.
Stephen Davis tells about the first session with Tyrone Downie held at Island Studios in London, UK.
I was told that the exact date was February 14th 1977.
His description of this “Proto-Session for Exodus” fits exactly to these recordings.
There is also a tape “Acoustic Session with the Sons Of Jah Part 1? circulating, with the first four songs and “So Much Things To Say” running 5,37.
And there is a tape “Part 2? circulating, with the last five songs and a bit lesser of “So Much Things To Say”, running 4,11.

10. Zimbabwe (Rehearsal) (14,09) Another source running 24 sec longer includes these from the song before.
11. Ride Natty Ride (Rehearsal) (21,39) Another source runs 31 seconds longer but includes these from the song before. So nothing different from here. But on Ultra Rarities there is a different part of this rehearsal, running over nine minutes.
And there is also Ride Natty Ride (7,45) that is a part of this track running 21 minutes in total. On Gael Doyen Collection CD 2.

WOUNDED LION SESSION, SURVIVAL REHEARSAL (SOURCE 2)
No noise, but a bit thinner sound, what let me think, this one is filtered.
01. Wounded Lion In The Jungle (20,38)
02. You Talk Too Much (3,41) A second source runs 5,29. This longer cut includes parts of the other demos and is nothing different.
03. Babylon System (Take 1)(5,09) Bob Marley on lead vocal singing te chorus, probably also on rhythm guitar.

SURVIVAL FULL REHEARSAL
Featuring Bob Marley, Aston Familyman Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Al Anderson, and the Horn-section. Because of the participation of these horns that are totally unique it seems likely that these are from the same session.
01. Could You Be Loved (Rehearsal)(1,47) vocals, harmonies, guitar solos, horns
02. Could You Be Loved (Rehearsal)(6,28) vocals, harmonies, guitar solos, horns
03. Survival (Rehearsal) (1,19)
04. Zimbabwe (Rehearsal) (14,15) Another source running 24 sec longer includes these from the song before.
05. Ride Natty Ride (Rehearsal) (Part 1) (22,17)
06. Ride Natty Ride (Rehearsal) (Part 2) (8,31)
KAZO found two rehearsals from two different cds to be two parts of the same rehearsal. Here both parts can be heard glued together as the original session of 31 minutes.

MOTHER B. TAPE REEL ONE (1977)
This tape is one of two ten inch reels found by Cedella Booker, Bob Marley’s mother, also called Mother B in 1981. Songs are Copyright b1990 Cedella Booker Marley.
01. Jailbreaker (16,07)
02. Place Of Peace (3,16)
03. Record A New Song (2,25)
04. We And Them (1,36)
This early recording shows that Bob Marley had this song written in 1977 but waited until 1980 to record it in a studio. Desi Smith confirmed that “We and Them” was written in 1977.
05. Vexation (0,47)
06. Jump Them Out Of Babylon (11,40)
A few words of Bob Marley, taken from this demo were used in a recent released dance remix called “Jump Them” by Richie Marley.

MOTHER B. TAPE REEL TWO (1980)
This tape is one of two ten inch reels found by Cedella Booker, Bob Marley’s mother, also called Mother B in 1981. Not proper stored both tapes remained untouched until May 11th, 1989, the eighth anniversary of Bob Marley’s death. Then they were restored as best as possible to reveal two hours of music. The tapes were restored by Roger Steffens. Reel 2 is recorded at Tuff Gong Studios during the sessions for Uprising in 1980.
01. Untitled Instrumental (14,46) drumbox and bass
02. Untitled Instrumental (10,16) bass only
03. Pray For Me (3,38) Bossa-nova with Bob Marley on acoustic guitar and vocals and a second guitarist playing in brazilian style, which makes it plausible to be recorded in March 1980 following Bob Marley’s journey to Brazil.
04. Slogans (4,14) drumbox and guitar instrumental
05. Slogans, Can’t Take Your Slogans No More (4,22) V1

Notes: Of the song “Bass Is Heavy” here in rehearsal running 7 minutes another 14 minutes version appears on “Bass Is Heavy” CDR. It is said one of the tracks on Mother B Reel 2 running 14 minutes would be another instrumental version of “Bass Is Heavy” And I was told there would exist a Full Band Mix done by Karl Pitterson, what would be the fourth take of this song.
