Part 1 – 1962-1966

Jamaican Singles

This list and the following lists include all different singles so far found. Blank labeled singles are only listed so far no labeled copy is known. Of all the labeled singles there are also blank labeled singles. These are pre-releases made for radio stations, record shops, theaters, clubs and juke-boxes. Because of intense use all these are now in such a bad condition that I think it is not worthy to look for those specially. In the picture gallery I include a few blanks with some not so common stamps on it. I would estimate that blank labeled singles exist in pressings in the range of 50 to 100. For a regular labeled pressing we can estimate a pressing of 500 at once. Sometimes a lot of such pressings were made whenever a pressings was sold out. Of some Jamaican hit singles 20.000 copies were sold. For some singles made in times of lack of money I think not even 500 but more likely 200 were pressed. And some songs only appear on test-pressings of which only a handful ever were made.
