FOOTNOTES:
Cutting Razor (Original) (The Versatiles)
This is the interpretation of The Versalites of “Stepping Razor”, written by Joe Higgs, more prominant is the interpretation by Peter Tosh.
First released on JA Upsetter: a-side: Cutting Razor (The Versalites) / b-side: Black Belt Jones (Upsetters)
UK 7-inch release: DIP DL5039, a-side: Cutting Razor / b-side: Black Belt Jones
Released on CD: Curly Locks – The Best Of Junior Byles (2,56)
The credits of the CD “Curly Locks” (Junior Byles) tell that Peter Tosh plays guitar at one or more songs from this CD. I suppose besides “Place Called Africa” a second song with Peter Tosh is “Got The Tip” but not “Cutting Razor”. The Wailers share harmonies at “Got The Tip”, so it seems likely that Peter Tosh played guitar at this session, too.
Cutting Razor (Alternate Mix) (Junior Byles)
Previously unreleased mix.
Released on CD: Cutting Razor: Rare Cuts (Lee Perry) (2,55)
