Backing by Beverly´s All-Stars featuring Arkland „Drumbago“ Parks on drums, Lloyd Brevett on bass, Jerome „Jah Jerry“ Hines on guitar, Roland Alphonso on tenor sax and Charlie Organaire on harmonica (playing the solo).

One Cup Of Coffee

This song titled as „Another Cup Of Coffee“ is written by Brooke Benton and recorded by Country & Western musician Claude Gray as „I´ll Just Have Another Cup Of Coffee (Then I´ll Go)“. The writer credit on the Beverley´s 7-inch to Bob Marley is a mistake.
During the late fifties and early sixties american pop music influenced jamaican music by radio air play. Radio stations from Memphis Tennessee and WINZ Miami could be heard in Jamaica. Records were imported and local cover versions were recorded and released.

Backing by Beverley´s All-Stars featuring Arkland „Drumbago“ Parks on drums, Lloyd Brevett on bass, Jerome „Jah Jerry“ Hines on guitar, Roland Alphonso on tenor sax, Don Drummond on trombone and Charlie Organaire on harmonica. Don Drummond was another founding member of The Skatalites and the singular talent of the period famous for his minor blues and uncommon harmonies as well as the Rastafarian influences as heard in tracks like „Addis Ababa“, „Mesopotamia“, „Marcus Garvey Junior“ and „Man In The Street“.

According to Bunny Wailer this track was recorded at the same session in circa April 1962 as „One Cup Of Coffee“ and released in Jamaica on Beverley´s. But no such 7-inch nor an independant confirmation could be found.
