Can´t Blame The Youth
New recording of the track recorded 1972. In fact released not earlier as 1980.
Jamaican 7-inch release: Intel-Diplo, 1980, a-side: Hammer (Matrix: DSR 0370-A) (DSR 9123 B) (3,42) / b-side: Can´t Blame The Youth (Matrix: DSR 0370-B) (4,06) (I have a recording of this single mp3-sourced on “Peter Tosh – Peter Tosh & More CDR” (4,06) and another on “Peter Tosh – Early Singles CDR” running 4,08.)
In RS book is a note about a second matrix used for “Can´t Blame The Youth” (1976) going “9123 B”. This looks very close to the matrix given for “Hammer” (1976) (Matrix: DSR 9123 B) So thids second matrix may well be a mistake.

RS informs us, that early copies of the Jamaican album release with the matrixes DSR 9413 A / DSR 9414 B would have the original phrasing including the line “Don´t be no nigger now” that are deleted and revoiced for the international album release.
RS tells us also that a 12-inch Maxi Columbia ASF 310 with the matrixes XSS162931-2A / XSS162932-2A would have a stereo mix and a mono mix, both seemingly not identical to the album track.

Tough Rock Soft Stones (Toughest Version Alternate)
The sleeve-note of the Bush Doctor Definiteve Remasters tells, that this song is previously unreleased and the writer is unknown and its unsure if the song is related to the band. Both the 7-inch and the 12-inch tell, that the playing artists are Word, Sound & Power, the backing band of Peter Tosh at that time, led by Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, who also produced the version as Glimmer Twins. Writer credit is given to Peter Tosh. Both are longer mixes of this track.
